Doug Eidenier

Picture
Hall of Fame Farrier Doug Eidener has devoted a lifetime to the art of horseshoeing. For over 45 plus years, Doug has taken his trade to place were few seldom reach, honored by his fellow bothering for this dedication & devotion to the care and professionalism to the trade of horseshoeing, Doug was inducted into the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association in 2009.

In 1998 Doug opened the SCSHS in an effort to pass on the knowledge he has gained over so many years to a new generation of farriers coming into the trade. The State of South Carolina recognized Doug as qualified to teach at an advanced level & granted Doug a licence to teach  higher education courses with government funding for the state.

20 plus years of teaching his trade to others, Doug has lost count of the number of students that have graduated his school, it would be like counting the number of shoes Doug has made! But Doug knows numbers are not important, just making the "shoe" & the "student" correctly is the only important part.

Doug has enjoyed much media attention over the years, shining a spotlight on his skills as a teacher & craftsman of the trade. But Doug is more at home in his workshop or out in the field with his students & clients.
